Waverley Borough Council Climate Emergency

Last September Waverley Borough Council declared a climate emergency.

Over the following 4 months the council’s Environment department has synthesised a strategy with each department at the council contributing policy responses. This strategy and policy statements has been approved by the Council Executive and is now open for public consultation.

The council officers and Executive members seem genuinely open to feedback and suggestions to improve the effectiveness of the council’s response and we would encourage individuals to consider and respond to both the Waverley Borough Council Sustainability officer and also their own Borough Councillor.  It is important for the council to be encouraged in its response to the Climate Emergency Declaration with positive feedback where their strategy is sound and constructive suggestions for improvement where necessary.
